I have been hearing this word “negative” and all of its allies far too
often in recent times. The world is dying so yes I believe a lot of
negative people, things and vibes will present themselves but don’t
you dare tell me that I’m negative just because I don’t agree with you.
The truth is I’m tired of hearing the negativity word but I must add
that it’s only annoying when it is used to defend one’s stance rather
than call out people on being total jerks. For example, have you ever
had a friend who wanted to pursue a career in singing and couldn’t
hold a note to save their lives? Bet if you told them they should
consider try something else they would tell you to stop being
negative. It’s sad really but I think it’s at its worst when the
person is very passionate about something.
Sometimes people are so passionate about what they do that they see
anything that is not supplementing or adding to their contribution as being negative. While I am very supportive of anyone who follows their dream with a strong determination for success, I’d be damned if any of them tell me I am being negative just because I don’t see what they are doing the same way they do. Here’s where I think the problem lies.
I think the problem is where people can’t or refuse to decipher someone being negative and someone giving an opinion that doesn’t
correspond with your goals. If you can’t sing and I tell you so, how
is that being negative? You can’t sing and that’s it. Maybe that’s
your dream but the fact remains that you can’t sing (in this
example, it’s common knowledge the person can’t sing).
People, please stop throwing the word around like a tennis ball. Yes there are some very negative people in the world today, hey I’ve even met some who read my blog but that doesn’t mean that every thing that isn’t lifting up your spirits is negative. If it is, then there are a few things that must be occurring. You live in a perfect world, you are perfect and or you are egotistic . So if you realize you seem to be bashing out at people for stating their opinion on something you are doing, first analyze what was said to determine if it is truly negative or not and if it is, then you do what you have to do.

It’s the same way where someone can get upset if one is providing constructive criticism. Because there are some people who will say, “You are just being negative and trying to take away my shine.” You definitely got a point.
